The Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC), Kamathi, was established on May 9, 2006. Following the 11th Amendment to the Maharashtra Agricultural Produce Marketing (Development and Regulation) Act, 1963—enacted in 2003—Section 27(A) was incorporated into the legislation. Consequently, pursuant to a government order regarding the trifurcation of the Nagpur APMC, the Kamathi APMC was formally established in 2006. The jurisdiction of this Market Committee encompasses 77 villages. Initially, an Administrator oversaw the commencement of the Committee's operations and development activities.
The election for the Board of Directors was held in 2012. Taking the initiative and extending their full cooperation, the elected Directors constructed stalls and sheds for vegetable vendors within the Market Committee's yard. A perimeter wall has been erected around the entire yard, and security guards are stationed 24 hours a day at the entry and exit gates. The office premises are monitored via CCTV cameras. Provisions for drinking water have been made available for visitors to the office, as well as for farmers, commission agents, and traders within the yard. Additionally, a 50-metric-ton electronic weighbridge has been installed within the Market Committee's yard.
